JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description Role Description: Special Event Security Guard Position Type: Casual / Part-Time / On-Call Reporting To: Site Supervisor or Operations Manager As a Special Event Security Guard with Apex Core Protection Inc., your role is critical in helping us create safe, controlled environments for a wide range of public and private events. You are expected to represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and awareness at all times. Core Responsibilities ● Maintain a high-visibility presence to deter disruptive behavior and enhance public safety. ● Manage access points, perform bag checks, and monitor credentials or ticketing as required. ● Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or violations of event or site protocols. ● Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or medical situations in alignment with Apex protocols. ● Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and event staff using radios and established procedures. ● Maintain a strong customer-service approach, offering support or directions to attendees while upholding security responsibilities. ● Complete all required documentation (e.g., incident reports, shift logs) accurately and in a timely manner. ● Follow site-specific instructions and directives from your supervisor or lead. Expectations ● Maintain a clean, professional appearance in full uniform with ID badge visible. ● Remain alert and aware at all times—phones and distractions are not permitted while on post. ● Arrive on time, fully prepared for your shift with required gear and equipment. ● Treat all attendees, colleagues, and event partners with respect and professionalism. ● Uphold Apex Core Protection Inc.'s standards of conduct and company values at all times. Required Qualifications ● Valid Nova Scotia Security Guard License. ● First Aid & CPR Level C certification (preferred or required depending on site). ● Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods and perform crowd management duties. ● Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in fast-paced environments. ● Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and in variable weather conditions, as required. Uniform & Equipment Requirements Guards are expected to arrive at all events fully equipped and in proper uniform: ● Required Personal Items: ○ Flashlight ○ Notebook and pen ○ Personal water bottle (optional but recommended for long shifts) ● Company-Provided: ○ Two-way radio (must be signed in/out) ○ Apex Core Protection uniform shirt ○ High-visibility vest (where applicable) ● Employee-Provided Dress Code: ○ Solid black pants (no jeans, leggings or joggers) ○ Black, closed-toe footwear with no visible branding or color accents ○ No branded hats or accessories; black toques allowed in cold weather ○ Hair should be neatly groomed, and visible piercings should be professional in appearance Code of Conduct Reminder As a representative of Apex Core Protection Inc., your behavior reflects directly on the company. You are expected to: ● Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and courtesy at all times. ● Remain alert and attentive—cell phone use is not permitted while on post unless authorized. ● Avoid engaging in gossip, arguments, or any behavior that may escalate conflict or appear unprofessional. ● Follow all instructions provided by your supervisor or event lead without delay. ● Refrain from using alcohol, cannabis, or any substances that impair performance before or during your shift. ● Immediately report any incident, injury, or concern using the proper chain of command and documentation process.
