Trainee Warehouse Operative

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Warehouse Operative to join our York Warehouse team! Location: York, YO30 4UU Hours: 40 hours (Monday to Friday) Salary: Dependant on experience THE ROLE: A Trainee Warehouse Operative would be expected to learn all aspects of working within a busy warehouse/yard of a builders merchant. They would be required to develop their knowledge of the building materials and best safe working practises of working in a busy warehouse/yard. DUTIES: The successful candidate will pick and load orders for James Burrell vehicles, serve customers and unload supplier vehicles. Full training will be provided including training on a fork lift truck. WHY JOIN US: Nearly 20% of our current workforce are current or former trainees and apprentices and impressively 30% of those who began as trainees or apprentices have gone on to secure Management or Senior Management positions across the business! CANDIDATE: We are looking for a well-presented individual who is enthusiastic to learn and develop their knowledge and skills. As a company we have a proven track record of developing trainees into more senior roles so this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a long-term career and shows aptitude and commitment to the role. In return we offer the right candidates full support and training, as well as 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, annual PRP bonus, option to buy or sell holidays and life assurance among others. The normal working week will be Monday to Friday and the starting salary will be reviewed as the successful candidate progresses.
