OverviewHOURLY RATE: $22.51-$25.00 POSITION SUMMARY: Guards, patrols, or monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. Location: South/Central San Diego County ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the department as a CPR/FA/AED instructor.Assist with quarterly loss prevention and safety inspections.Assist coaching of Security Officers and takes a lead role in the department.Demonstrates good working knowledge of State and local safety and shoplifting laws.Ensures adequate Security coverage at various locations in line with departmental expectation.Evaluates physical security needs for all Goodwill facilities. Communicates suggested improvement ideas to the Safety and Asset Protection Manager.Assist with emergency situations, First Aid, CPR and AED.Demonstrates and adheres to working knowledge a Community Emergency Response Team Certification. Is an essential member of Goodwill's Emergency Response Team.Assists in the training of new Security Officers in company standards. Security policies and procedures.Helps promote health, safety and liability awareness. Acts as a safety leader.Patrols industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensures security of doors, windows, and gates.Answers alarms and investigates disturbances.Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.Checks all vehicles and donation center doors, lift gates and roll-up doors to determine they are locked and secured.Notifies management immediately if any illegal activity is conducted during business hours.Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property to management immediately.Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.QualificationsSKILLS & ABILITIES: Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Experience: 3 years or more of experience required. Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Office, e-mail and internet preferred. Certificates & Licenses: CPR/FA/AED Instructor Certificate, Advanced OSHA Certified, Loss Prevention Qualified Certificate. Amount of Travel Required: 50% to 75%
