We're building more than infrastructure—we are building your future. ## About This Role This position supports daily operations at road and highway sites and construction projects, where you'll safely perform various tasks essential to keeping our jobsites running smoothly. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean, hazard-free work area while assisting with subgrade preparation and concrete and asphalt work. ## What You'll Do Your day-to-day responsibilities include removing debris and materials, performing jobsite housekeeping, and assisting with subgrade preparation. You'll shovel, rake, excavate, backfill, compact, and move materials as needed. Loading and unloading tools, equipment, and construction materials is part of the routine, along with digging trenches or holes as required. You'll operate hand tools and small equipment including shovels, picks, tampers, saws, jackhammers, drills, and compactors. Basic inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment fall within your scope, and you may also operate a skiploader. Your responsibilities extend to asphalt paving tasks including shoveling, raking, and sweeping. Installing and maintaining barricades, fencing, and screening is routine, as is flagging and controlling traffic when needed. You'll conduct grade checks and use basic layout and survey tools such as tape measures, levels, and lasers. Assisting Carpenters, Masons, Operators, and other trades is an important part of collaborating on our projects. ## What We're Looking For You'll need a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. While previous construction experience is preferred, we're open to motivated individuals ready to learn and grow. The ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights while tied off is essential. You should be comfortable working day, swing, and night shifts, occasionally with extended hours. This role requires you to work in constant exposure to outside elements and all weather conditions. You'll be working in a safety-sensitive construction setting with exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are critical—you'll be part of a fast-paced and complex environment where your contributions matter. ## Physical Requirements You must demonstrate excellent physical dexterity, stamina, and hand-eye coordination. The ability to grasp, assemble, and lift objects is fundamental. You'll stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces. Squatting, bending, climbing ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lying down are all part of the job. Lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more is regular work.
