Our client, a fashion retailer in Knysna, Western Cape, requires a Merchandiser with a flair for visual presentation. You will create attractive window and in-store displays, implement planograms, dress mannequins, and ensure merchandise is presented to maximise sales. A creative eye and understanding of consumer behaviour are important. Responsibilities Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Handle customer returns and exchanges professionally, adhering to company policies while maintaining customer satisfaction. Open and close the store following security procedures including cashing up, locking up, and setting alarms. Receive, unpack, and price incoming stock deliveries, checking quantities against delivery notes and reporting discrepancies. Train and develop new sales assistants, demonstrating excellent customer service techniques and product knowledge. Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and identify shrinkage issues promptly. Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with customers and team members. A Grade 12 certificate is the minimum requirement; a retail or business-related qualification is advantageous. Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends, public holidays, and late trading evenings. For management roles, proven experience in leading a retail team and driving sales to achieve targets. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail, particularly for cashier and stock control positions. A genuine passion for customer service with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally. A professional and well-presented appearance reflecting the brand image of the retail establishment. Qualifications National Diploma in Retail Business Management
