Under the direct supervision of the security shift supervisor, performs a variety of protective, service and courtesy duties, including complex and special duties requiring above average initiative, judgment, and specialized knowledge or skill. Provides a safe and secure environment for visitors, staff, and the Museum collections. Duties and Responsibilities: Take the lead in an emergency situationMust have the ability to work well with other Team Members in order to achieve departmental goalsProvide general information to the public in a courteous mannerObserves, assists and controls when necessary visitor access in the MuseumProtect the collections, serves as a deterrent to acts of vandalism or violenceAssists with crowd control at Museum entry points, patrols premises, as directed to protect FM propertyReports activities in order to maintain order and protect Museum property, visitors, and staffMaintains a post at assigned entrances to screen incoming personnel, maintain sign-in and sign-out logs, as well as badging process for persons entering the MuseumAt specific times, locks and unlocks specified Museum entrances, areas and exitsResponds to requests for assistance and evaluates appropriate courses of action, including investigation and explanation of policies and procedures.Respond to emergencies, such as fires, evacuation implementations or employee and/or visitor injuriesComplete incident reportsAdminister First Aid CPR/AED/Stop The Bleed in the event of any major medical emergenciesServes as backup to the shipping and receiving staff, Access Control, Mail Center and the freight elevatorPerforms duties in the Security Console, which includes daily inspection of security cameras, alarms, communication system and recording devices for the MuseumAssist with the on-the-job trainings of new security officersFollows all instructions and adheres to all policies and procedures as presented in the Policy ManualServices supervisors as needed. Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalentThree or more years of security experienceHave the ability to work under pressure and take charge in rapidly escalating situationsStrong Computer Skills such as Gmail, Google Calendar etc.Flexible with the schedule and may be required to assist with staffing assignments on other shiftsPhysical Requirements: Be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timeRespond quickly to alarms and/or emergenciesClimb laddersLift or move equipment such as packages, cables or parcelsMust be able to lift or carry 20 or more pounds Supervision Received: Receives general supervision by Assistant Manager Supervision Exercised: The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
