Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel to meet the unique needs of each student. Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on the student's health status and progress. Advocate for the student's health and educational needs within the school setting, ensuring that they have access to appropriate accommodations and support services. For Health Office Nurse: Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the health office for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration. Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health issues and provide appropriate interventions or referrals as needed. Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication administration logs. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement health policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy school environment. Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention. RN School Nurse Job Requirements: Registered Nurse in New York: You must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of New York. Current BLS Certification: Possession of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
