Site Description: Paladin is hiring casual security officers to work at various locations around the Halifax Regional Municipality to cover Summer events.
Position Details:
Position: Casual Security Officer
Site: Various locations across HRM
Hours: As needed; Shifts can be anywhere between 4-16hrs
Payrate: $17.77
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol the building, facilities and exterior grounds Respond to incidents and play an active role in all emergency situations Conduct investigations re: thefts, break and enter, suspicious persons, accidents, vandalism, etc and complete incident reports, occurrence logs or appropriate documentation Complete door locks/unlocks as required; monitor for unsecure doors Enforce site's policy as per assigned and document all non-compliance. Provide assistance, as necessary, to community members' Assist in orientation and training of new security personnel, as required. Provide First Aid response. Conduct ID checks, as required. Monitor surveillance cameras, as required. Other related duties and assignments, as delegated by the Paladin Client Service Manager. Parking Duties may be required. Prerequisites:
Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia Must currently hold a valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor) Must be willing to travel up to 1Hr for certain events Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle are considered asset. English (oral and written) fluency is a must Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability Why choose Paladin?
