JOB OVERVIEW Plan A Technologies is seeking an Executive in Residence (EiR) for our Retail practice. This is a high-impact, 6-month residency designed for a C-suite leader (former CTO, CIO, or CEO) who has spent their career at the intersection of retail operations and technology. This role is part-time – usually under a 15 hour per week commitment. There are two components to the role: first, you’ll be providing high-stakes technology advice to existing clients and potential clients, and second, you’ll set up introductions to companies like big-box retailers, e-commerce giants, global supply chain firms, and retail-tech innovators. Please note: Business development work is a required component of this position. Responsibilities Strategic Advisory: Act as a senior advisor to help clients solve critical technology challenges, from omnichannel transformation to AI-driven inventory management and automated supply chain logistics. Partnership Development: Leverage your deep industry network to cultivate new strategic partnerships with major retail brands, e-tailers, and logistics providers. Strategic Growth: Advise the Plan A leadership team on market trends in the retail sector (e.g., last-mile delivery, personalized customer experiences, and contactless payments) to help shape our service offerings. Thought Leadership: Represent Plan A in high-level discussions and industry forums, contributing your expertise to help solve the most pressing challenges in the retail ecosystem. Experience & Qualifications Industry Tenure: At least 15 years of deep expertise in retail, especially with commerce and logistics technology. Leadership Pedigree: You must have served as an SVP-level or C-level executive at a major retailer, e-commerce platform, logistics firm, or high-growth retail-tech company. Deep Network: A large, active network of close relationships across retail C-suites, private equity groups focused on consumer goods, and supply chain partners. Technical Fluency: Profound understanding of retail-specific software development, including POS integrations, warehouse management systems, and the data security protocols required for sensitive consumer payment information. Communication Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required for both thought leadership content and high-level stakeholder discussions.
