Events Coordinator

A game lodge near Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal requires a Events Coordinator to provide guided safari experiences to international and local guests. You will conduct game drives and bush walks, interpret animal behaviour and ecology, ensure guest safety around wildlife, and contribute to conservation awareness. FGASA qualification and a love of the bush are essential.

Responsibilities Handle guest complaints and service recovery professionally, resolving issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction. Promote and sell additional services and products to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue. Process travel bookings including flights, hotels, car hire, and tours using booking systems and supplier websites. Conduct game drives and nature walks, interpreting wildlife behaviour, ecology, and conservation issues for guests. Advise clients on travel options including destinations, accommodation, transport, and activities based on their preferences and budget. Prepare detailed travel itineraries, invoices, travel vouchers, and pre-departure information packs for clients.

Requirements For tour guide and game ranger roles, a valid FGASA or DEAT-registered guide qualification with first aid certification. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is highly advantageous. Strong knowledge of South African geography, tourist attractions, and the local tourism product. A minimum of one to three years of experience in the tourism, hospitality, or travel industry. A diploma or degree in tourism management, hospitality, or a related field from a recognised institution. A valid driver's licence with a professional driving permit is required for most tour guiding positions.
