Lead Preschool Teacher

Minimum Qualifications

· BA in Early Childhood Education or related field

· NY State Teaching Certificate: Birth-2nd Grade (if eligible, possibility for placement on Study Plan to obtain NY Certification)

· At least 1 year of classroom experience

· Experience working with children with IEPs a plus!

· Preferred: Master’s Degree with NYS teaching certification

Skills & knowledge

· Experience working in an early childhood setting

· Be warm and loving with a positive attitude and appreciation of children

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program

· Respectful to all persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds

· Ability to organize and reflect teaching goals and progress in documentation: lesson plans, assessments and evaluations

· Ability to engage children in developmentally appropriate ways ( also including addressing children at eye level, sitting with children on the floor, engaging children in play and conversation)

· Ability to attend to daily tasks as an educator

· Maintain partnerships with families & staff
