Scarlet Security and Risk Group (SSRG) is seeking experienced, licensed Security Personnel for remote deployments in BC, Alberta, Yukon and NWT. Successful applicants will provide security services on a casual, as-needed basis. Rural and remote Wildfire Security Officers assist local authorities with safety, security and emergency response when wildfires threaten homes, ranches, industries and communities. This includes control, restricting and logging access to wildfire areas to ensure only authorized persons enter and to prevent theft from unattended properties. Responsibilities Working at checkpoints or camps, with minimal guidanceWildfire perimeter access control including recording visitors coming and going from checkpointsChecking all vehicles entering/departing restricted areasChecking passes that have been issued by the local authorities (e.g. Regional District)Assisting law enforcement as required, including at checkpointsCooperating with local EOC and other first responders and agencies at incident scenesAssistance with evacuations of people, livestock and propertyCoaching new members when required Requirements Valid Security Worker License in at least one of BC, Yukon, Alberta Class 5 driver's licenseMust have a minimum of 2 years of security service or related experienceLaw enforcement background (police, military, sheriff, corrections) preferredExceptional written and spoken English communication skillsGood physical fitness Additional Information On-call, casual basis. There are no guaranteed hours, but you must be ready to work full-time if required, possibly for multi-week deployments.12-hour deployments, and shift times will vary.
