This is a client-facing role where officers help maintain the safety and security of the building while providing a professional presence for tenants, guests, and vendors. The position is ideal for individuals who demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a polished, professional demeanor appropriate for a residential environment. Security Officers in this role play an important part in maintaining a safe, well-managed property while delivering courteous and attentive service to tenants and visitors. Introduction Established in 1918, Guardian Service Industries is a fourth-generation family-owned company providing Security, Janitorial, Engineering, Pest Control, and Facility Support Services. We support more than 1,000 properties across the East Coast, New England, and Florida, including commercial buildings, residential communities, transportation hubs, schools, and government facilities. The Role: Most/all of the following service tasks are to be completed daily depending on your role. Security Officers may perform a combination of the following duties depending on site needs: Maintain a professional and welcoming presence for residents, guests, and vendorsMonitor building access points and maintain awareness of building activityConduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas of the buildingMonitor surveillance cameras and building security systemsRespond to emergencies and security concerns promptly and professionallyMaintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and daily activity reportsAssist with package handling and vendor deliveries when requiredMaintain control and documentation of building and concierge keysIdentify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violationsCoordinate with building management and property staff to support daily operationsEnforce building policies while maintaining a calm and professional demeanorMaintain clear communication during shift transitions to ensure operational continuity Security Officer Qualifications • Valid New York State Security Guard License • 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Certificate • 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Certificate • Prior experience in residential security, corporate security, concierge security, or customer-facing security roles preferred • Strong communication and customer service skills • Professional appearance and polished demeanor • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods as required Our company participates in E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires.
