Chemical Plant Operations Manager

Our client, a major chemical manufacturing company, is seeking a highly experienced and safety-conscious Chemical Plant Operations Manager to oversee operations at their facility in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA. This is an on-site role requiring full-time dedication to managing the plant's day-to-day activities. You will be responsible for leading a team of plant operators and technicians, ensuring the efficient and safe production of chemicals in accordance with strict quality standards.

Your key duties will include managing production schedules, optimizing plant performance, implementing and enforcing stringent safety protocols (including HAZOP studies and process safety management), and overseeing maintenance activities to minimize downtime. A deep understanding of chemical processes, plant equipment, and regulatory compliance (e.g., environmental permits, safety regulations) is crucial. Experience with process control systems and automation is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage complex operations in a challenging industrial environment.
