Key Responsibilities Assist with site preparation and cleanup, including clearing debris, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining a tidy work area. Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision, such as shovels, rakes, jackhammers, and compactors. Support skilled tradespersons and equipment operators by performing tasks like spotting, guiding machinery, and securing loads. Participate in flagging and traffic control to ensure the safety of both the crew and the public. Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Perform general labor duties as assigned, including trenching, grading, paving, and asphalt patching. Maintain and clean tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects on time and to the highest quality standards. Required Skills Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks in various weather conditions. Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to new tasks and environments. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and strictly adhering to safety protocols. Basic communication skills to understand and follow safety instructions and communicate with team members. Preferred Qualifications Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record. Previous experience in physically demanding outdoor work or general labor. Awareness of basic construction site safety principles (e.g., WHMIS, CSTS certification – training will be provided if not held). First Aid and CPR certification (an asset).
