An armed response company in Paarl, Western Cape requires a Security Guard to respond to alarm activations and emergency calls. You will conduct rapid response patrols, investigate suspicious activity, and liaise with law enforcement when necessary. A valid firearm competency certificate and advanced driving skills are essential. Responsibilities Write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events, observations, and actions taken for management review. Perform regular checks of security equipment including alarms, cameras, radios, and access control systems to ensure functionality. Control access to buildings and sites by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining an accurate access register. Provide excellent customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors while maintaining a firm and professional security presence. Assist with emergency procedures including fire evacuations, medical emergencies, and crisis situations according to established protocols. Monitor CCTV camera feeds in real time from a control room, identifying and responding to any unusual or suspicious activity. Supervise and coordinate a team of security officers, managing shift rosters and ensuring all posts are adequately staffed. Requirements A clear criminal record is mandatory and subject to regular review as per PSIRA requirements. Good written and verbal communication skills to write reports and interact professionally with clients and the public. A valid PSIRA registration at the appropriate grade level for the position being applied for. A valid driver's licence is required for armed response and patrol positions. A minimum of one to two years of experience in the security industry with a proven track record of reliability. For armed response roles, a valid firearm competency certificate and experience in handling firearms safely.
