We're looking for a talented, ambitious Sous Chef with a passion for great food and a desire to progress their career by taking ownership of a busy café kitchen at The Good Room Café, Adare. This position is ideal for a hungry Sous Chef looking for the opportunity to step up, develop their own ideas, influence menus, and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen while working closely with the General Manager. The Good Room is a beautiful café tucked away in one of Ireland's prettiest villages, known for its quality food, warm atmosphere, and loyal customer base. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for great produce, creativity, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Role The successful candidate will take a leading role in the kitchen, helping to drive standards, develop new dishes, manage food quality, and support the continued growth of our food offering. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who wants more responsibility and the chance to run a kitchen without waiting years for the opportunity. The ideal candidate will: Have previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie. Be passionate about fresh, seasonal ingredients and quality food. Have experience and knowledge of implementing and monitoring HACCP procedures. Have a good knowledge of current culinary trends and Irish produce. Be an outgoing individual who enjoys working as part of a team. Be a hands-on leader who leads by example. Be organised, reliable, and able to perform under pressure. Have a genuine ambition to develop and grow within the role. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. Maintain consistently high food standards. Assist with menu development and daily specials. Manage stock control and minimise waste. Ensure HACCP and food safety procedures are followed at all times. Support, train, and motivate kitchen team members. Work closely with the General Manager to drive the business forward. What We Offer Full-time permanent position.
