Our client, a leading enterprise, is seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their finance department. This on-site role, based in **Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA**, requires a professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen ability to provide strategic financial insights. You will be instrumental in driving financial performance through accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and efficient operational accounting. Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements. Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads. Conduct variance analysis, investigating discrepancies and providing explanations to senior management. Manage cost accounting functions, including product costing, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation. Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, board meetings, and other stakeholders. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion of their tasks. Optimize financial processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy. Assist in financial audits, liaising with external auditors. Provide financial support and analysis for strategic business initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement. Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A professional accounting qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is essential. A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in management accounting or a related financial role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and management accounting techniques. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pastel) and advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in the (mention a relevant industry, e.g., mining, agriculture, retail) sector is advantageous. Understanding of internal controls and risk management.
