About this role

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Field Marketing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing merchandising efforts and executing marketing promotions including wet demos at various butchery and retail locations. This role requires a strong understanding of retail environments, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Field Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring our brand's presence is maximized in stores, driving sales and enhancing customer engagement. As our brand is mass market focused, the candidate needs to be comfortable operating in the township environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Merchandising and Visual Presentation:

Implement effective merchandising strategies to optimize the presentation and visibility of our products within butchery and retail spaces Ensure that all displays, shelving, and signage align with brand guidelines and convey a consistent brand image Monitor and maintain product inventory levels on shelves, making recommendations for restocking as necessary Regularly visit assigned stores to assess visual presentation, identify opportunities for improvement, and address any issues that arise

2. Marketing Promotion Execution:

Collaborate with marketing teams to understand upcoming promotions, campaigns, and product launches Plan and execute the setup of promotional displays, ensuring that they are engaging, well-organized, and compliant with promotional guidelines Train store staff on the specifics of each promotion, providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively communicate promotion details to customers Monitor the success of promotions by tracking sales metrics and gathering feedback from store staff Recruiting and managing casual staff if needed for additional wet demos

3. Point of Sale (POS) Materials:

Coordinate the distribution of POS materials, including posters, banners, shelf talkers, and other promotional collateral Ensure that POS materials are strategically placed within stores to maximize visibility and impact Regularly update and refresh POS materials based on campaign schedules and changes in marketing strategies

4. Ensure the success of new product launches by identifying key opportunities to merchandise and create awareness in store

5. Relationship Building:

Develop and maintain positive relationships with store managers, staff, and other key stakeholders at each retail location Communicate regularly with store teams to gather insights, share updates, and address any concerns related to merchandising and promotions Act as a bridge between the brand and the retail partners, fostering collaboration and mutual success

6. Data Collection and Reporting:

Collect data and insights related to merchandising effectiveness, promotion success, and customer engagement. Monitor competitor activity and ensure it is communicated to sales teams with recommendations on how to mitigate any share loss Compile and analyze data to provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement. Create regular reports detailing the impact of merchandising efforts and promotional activities

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum Matric plus 5+ Years relevant experience in a similar position in the FMCG industry Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport will be advantageous Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages Hard working Self-motivated and driven Attention to detail essential Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans or any other language) Great relationship building skills Excellent organisational and planning skills Target driven Deadline driven

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R10 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
